Karen Laverdiere joined Brustein & Manasevit, PLLC as Of Counsel in February 2017. Ms. Laverdiere brings to the Firm nearly 30 years of experience administering Title IV programs through a combination of positions, including serving in senior financial aid management roles at several institutions and vice president of consulting services for a prominent higher education/financial aid consulting firm.
Ms. Laverdiere assists colleges and universities with federal Title IV program compliance including, but not limited to, policy and procedure review and development, program participation agreement/eligibility certification and approval report services, consumer disclosure reviews and remediation, Clery Act processes, remediation and litigation, and federal cash management processes, remediation and legal notices for contracts.
Ms. Laverdiere has conducted compliance reviews and assisted clients with remediation efforts to bring their programs into compliance. She has experience in multiple financial aid management systems and is adept at identifying and implementing process improvements.
Ms. Laverdiere also presents nationally at conferences and forums.
