Brustein & Manasevit attorneys frequently publish articles, practice manuals, and legal texts on the requirements of various Federal education programs. For several years, the firm has served as contributing editors to the Title I Handbook and Title I Monitor, both published by Thompson Publishing Group.

Kristen Cowan, Melissa Clarry Junge and Sheara Krvaric just completed a NEW book, Federal Education Grants Management: What Administrators Need to Know , published by Thompson Publishing Group.  In addition to a clear explanation of EDGAR, explanations of the expeditures allowed under federal grants, and much more valuable insight, the book includes key compliance documents, such as the administrative regulations for state and local programs, OMB ciruclars, and relevant excerpts from the Compliance Supplement.

Michael Brustein has authored The Perkins Act of 2006-The Official Guide, in collaboration with ACTE.  This book is a comphrehensive guide that provides the complete text of the new law and section-by-section explanations - plus analysis of the differences between the new law and the previous act, how the changes are likely to affect your programs, and how Perkins coordinates with other federal legislation such as NCLB and the Workforce Investment Act.

Sheara Krvaric and Michael Brustein wrote The Tech Prep Guide to Perkins IV  for CORD Communications.  This comprehensive guide is an invaluable source for how to best use Perkins funds, new rules for accountability, and much more!

The IDEA book has also been recently updated by Leigh Manasevit, Christine Plagata-Neubauer and Tiffany Winters.  IDEA: New Expectations for Schools and Students, 2nd Edition is the only all-in one resource you need to quickly make sense of the new regulations.  It gives you the essential insight you need to understand the Department of Education requirements.
