
Christine Plagata-Neubauer is an associate with Brustein & Manasevit, specializing in the IDEA. She advises clients on various aspects of compliance with federal education programs, including the IDEA, the federal Child Nutrition Programs, and federal civil rights laws, such as Section 504, the ADA, Title VI, and Title IX. Prior to joining Brustein & Manasevit, Ms. Plagata-Neubauer extensively researched legislative history on the IDEA, both as an intern with the U.S. Department of Education's Office of the General Counsel and as a civil rights analyst with the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. While at the Commission, she co-authored a publication on federal enforcement of the IDEA and Section 504 in public elementary and secondary education programs. She also co-authored a publication on the 1997 reauthorization of IDEA. Ms. Plagata-Neubauer earned her bachelor's degree from The College of William and Mary, concentrating in government and history. She received her law degree from The Washington College of Law at American University.
